Customer Rating: Summary: Must Read for Every Christian Comment: One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven is a book that has completely changed my life. I always knew I should be sharing and witnessing to others but I never knew how. Mark Cahill makes his point very clear that what we 'should' be doing by witnessing is actually done by very few Christians. Mark gives an explaination of the how to open the conversation, share, overcome objections, etc. After reading this book, I began actually sharing my faith for the first time. I don't want any tickets in my pocket when I get to heaven (read the chapter). This book is so good that I purchased multiple copies to give out to every Christian friend I have and have extras available for when I run into Christians who aren't witnessing because of fear or that they just don't know how. This is a MUST have for every Christian!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Every Christian should read this book Comment: When it comes to conveying the heart of Christianity in a few words, this book really cuts to the chase. The author answers one of the most critical questions a Christian, old or new, can ask: How can I most effectively share my faith with family, friends, and complete strangers? And after all, isn't that what we're here for?
Customer Rating: Summary: wrong focus Comment: Cahill focuses heavily on the afterlife as the reason why people should accept Christ.
He doesn't focus enough on how Jesus changes people in THIS life here on earth; how we can have a blessed relationship with him on earth. Rather, his tool for evangelism is: tell people they need jesus or else they will not go to heaven.
Great writing style doesn't mean great content
Customer Rating: Summary: Put the tires to the pavement!!! Comment: This is a book that you will find difficult to put down. Perhaps you have read through the Bible, been in Bible study, help in some Church activities, and you just cannot put your finger on what is missing. What am I missing? All these activities and you just cannot put your finger on why... What you read in the Bible... doesn't match with what you are living out.
This is a rare opportunity to see how to put the tires of faith to the road of life.
I am so glad I was able to get this book and not only absorb what has been written, but to put it to practical use almost everyday.
Mark has a unique way of just down to earth sharing how and why to evangelize.
I have marked most every page for future reference as I got information overload while reading. What I mean by that is that I had to stop many times and not only ponder, but check with the Bible and find out just how scriptural this book follows what Gods word is telling us to do.
This should be a must read for every Bible Study.
Customer Rating: Summary: Written so that you can do the one thing you can't do in heaven Comment: Every page oozes with Mark's passion to reach people for Christ. He rightfully points out that if you are a beliver in Christ, then this is the one thing you ought to do. He clearly shows that evangelism is not a burden but a privilege. When you share your faith in Christ with others, that is always a winning proposition. It doesn't matter if you get rejected. You have sown seeds that can be harvested later.
